FILMING

.Today me and my group wet in college to do our studio shoot, we used both a black an back drop to include in different parts of the music video. Today we used the DSLR camera which allowed us to film more focused images which I found worked well compared to the Panasonic camera. 

FILMING

Today we started to shoot scene 6 but only managed to do a small section as we were only an hour in the film studio. We had both our characters in there who just got on with their role for the video. We had Shakera as the director, Mariam helping with the lyrics and music and I set up lighting and camera. Although we filmed in front green screen were planning on also filming with a white/black back drop for a full effect. 

PRE-PRODUCTION- EQUIPMENT BOOKING

Today my group and I came to decision that we plan to start shooting some of our scenes so therefore we then chose to book our equipment in preparation for our shoot. we chose to book both he Panasonic camera and DSLR camera. We booked them in for a Friday lunchtime to shoot in the studio for scene 6 and Wednesday during the half term for scene 11.

My team mate (Mariam) finished off the Recces today which has a clear over view of the different places we have chosen to shoot our music video. 

PRE-PRODUCTION- STORYBOARDS

This is a show of our storyboards and the different shots and frames we will use during the time that we'll shoot. We are still carrying on with these storyboards as there are still more frames to add.

 Today my group carried on doing the story boards and I started on some of the scenes too. I started doing scenes 7,8 and 9.

Music video storyboard plan

 

Scene 1- The party scene (establishing shot) to set the scene. Then (long shots) and (close ups) to show when the couple meet, and their facial expressions when noticing each other flirting with others at the party (Shot reverse shot). – Prologue

Scene 2- Outside the party, on the porch (establishing shot). Long shots to show their surrounding and body language. Over the shoulder shots during their conversation, then shot reverse shot. This scene will have a slow cutting rate to emphasise tension between the couple. - Prologue

Scene 3- Rihanna at her friend’s house. Shot reverse shot used during their conversation. (Midshots)  - Prologue (The music begins & plays quietly in the background)

Scene 4- Lyrics of the songs begin. The male artist (future) walks out his house (over the shoulder shot as he closes the door) and down the road (long shot to show body language) ‘I don’t wanna give you the wrong impression…’

Scene 5- Rihanna down the road leading to canal ‘Oh baby I'm not asking for the world maybe…’ Camera follows behind her.

Scene6- ‘Come hold me tight and when I'm drowning…’ slow cutting rate to Performance shot in the studio/ rooftop. Close ups and midshots

Scene 7- ‘If im your girl, say my name boy…’ Back to the canal, the camera is now in front of her.

Scene 8- Back to future as he stands on the side of the road ‘I don’t wanna give you the wrong impression…’  

Scene 9- ‘And I hope I’m not sounding too desperate...’ Clip of him in the studio (slow cutting rate)

Scene 10- Back to street. Long shot.

Scene 11- ‘Boy lately you've been stingy with your time’ Rihanna continues to walk down the canal as the camera still

Scene 12- Performance based. Shots of Rihanna in the photo studio or rooftop. Close-ups used to show facial expression and intensity in her face 

Scene 13- Future (Chorus) Long shot of him walking up the road with the camera tracking him, also with clips of him in the studio. Hands in his pocket facing down as he walks (panning)

Scene 14- Future (Can you love me for poor, I'm searching for my soul, whoever turned you cold...) At this point he is walking towards Rihanna. Long shot

Scene 15- Both artist (You need to let 'em know, I can work miracles) both artist have met and are looking into each other’s eyes. Close up. Shot reverse shot.

 Scene 16- Future (Chorus) they are now reconciled and hug. Mid shot

Today I started on doing the recces for the group and looked at different places in which we could film or music video.

AUDIENCE FEEDBACK

Because I moved groups I'm unaware of the feedback my new team received but looking back at their pitch I saw that they didn't receive much negative feedback but they were told that the presentation was of good standard but our teacher was unaware of whether the locations that were going to be used on there was going to suitable for the scenes and also whether they would have access to it.

NEW PITCH

In terms of groups has been a slight change of plans so therefore my finishing product would not be the same as my previous ideas. I changed groups because I felt that in the other group I that the other two members were not really interacting with me when it came down to discussing new ideas for our music video. In this new group I plan to draw out the storyboard and participate in any other ideas which we could include in the music video.
This is a pitch of the new idea that I would be developing and working with.  however in terms of creative ideas that would remain the same, as well as props and settings.

We chose this vintage look to suit the type of music we are using which would include scenes in Brick Lane which is one of our locations which would suit this look. We want this look to be the representation of our whole music video.
